Coldplay, Jonas Bros., Lil Wayne up for Grammy Glory
Coldplay, the Jonas Brothers and Lil Wayne go together like, well, Grammy nominees, of course.
The acts all scored top nominations tonight for the 51st annual Grammy Awards.
Coldplay and Lil Wayne notched Album of the Year nods for Viva La Vida and Tha Carter III, respectively. Ne-Yo (Year of the Gentleman) and fun-music-couple Alison Krauss and Robert Plant (Raising Sand) also were nominated. Radiohead rounded out the category with a nod for In Rainbows, thus potentially causing Grammy-scoring headaches for people who think Radiohead is Coldplay or vice versa.
Lil Wayne led all artists with eight nominations. Coldplay scored seven. And not that Kanye West pays attention to such things, but he did well to pick up six, as did Ne-Yo and Jay-Z.
The Jonas Brothers made their mark in the Best New Artist category.
Anne Heche Expecting a Baby With Trees Beau
Anne Heche may not have Men in Trees but she has babies coming out of the woodwork.
The 39-year-old actress, fresh from a rather nasty custody battle, is expecting her first child with boyfriend James Tupper, 43, according to Heche's rep, who told Us Weekly the couple "are thrilled."
Each was still married when they met in 2006 on the Vancouver set of ABC's Men in Trees, which lasted two seasons. They debuted as a couple shortly after Heche filed for divorce from her hubby of more than five years, Coley Laffoon, in February 2007.
Before finally settling their differences in June, the estranged exes traded barbs galore as they fought over custody of their now 6-year-old son, Homer, with Laffoon objecting to the boy spending too much time in Vancouver with mom and her new beau.
When asked last year whether she was open to having more children, Heche told Extra, "Gotta leave it open, ya know what I'm saying?"

The dark comedy about a scorned anthropology student's quest to figure out why her latest boyfriend dumped her, based on a book by the late David Foster Wallace, stars Krasinski, Timothy Hutton and Julianne Nicholson.
Like the rest of next year's competition lineup, Brief Interviews will have its world premiere at Sundance.

Mark Ruffalo's Brother Shot in the Head, Hospitalized
Mark Ruffalo's younger brother has been hospitalized in Los Angeles and listed in critical condition after sustaining a gunshot wound to his head early Monday morning.
Beverly Hills Police confirm that the incident, which took place at Scott Ruffalo's apartment, was "suspicious," but they have yet to classify the tragic event as a criminal occurrence.
"Our detectives will not say if it was a shooting," Beverly Hills Police Department spokesman Tony Lee told E! News. "All we can say is that we are investigating some suspicious circumstance that [occurred] early Monday morning."
Baywatch's Gina Lee Nolin Adds to Babe Count
Time for Gina Lee Nolin to start shopping for an even teenier bikini than usual.
The former Baywatch bombshell and her hockey player hubby, Cale Hulse, welcomed their second child together Wednesday, daughter Stella Monroe Hulse.
"Mom and baby are both healthy and doing very well," Nolin's rep, Jerry Shandrew, told People. "The whole family is very excited to welcome baby Stella home."
Upon her arrival in Scottsdale, Ariz., baby Stella weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces and measured 20 1/2 inches long. She joins her 2-year-old brother, Hudson, as well as 11-year-old Spencer, Nolin's son with her first husband, and 7-year-old Caia, Hulse's daughter from a previous relationship, in her parents' brood.
Nolin and Hulse met on a blind date—Hulse must have been pleasantly surprised when he showed up for that one—and tied the knot in 2004.
Who Drew a Smaller Crowd: Rosie or Ellen?
OK, let's get the easy stuff out of the way: What was TV's most watched show last week? The Dancing With the Stars finale, duh.
But with Grey's Anatomy in reruns, what was the No. 1 show among the demographically desirable? Whose variety special played to the smaller house: Rosie O'Donnell or Ellen DeGeneres'? And which former CW show killed the CW?
The answers—and more questions—in this week's ratings pop quiz:
Afternoon Fix: Was Heidi Drugged Into Marriage?
• Heidi Montag's marriage just scored her a second Us Weekly cover. This one is especially awesome in that her mom states her theory that Heidi was drugged by Spencer before the ceremony and then makes a wager that the holy union will only last six months.
• Pete Wentz is all about the truth in this Details profile and straight out admits Bronx Mowgli was a "happy accident."
• With all the fancy editing in Britney's new "Circus" video, her dancing doesn't look as bad.

Kelly Ripa and Hubby Nix Split Story, Rip Enquirer a New One
The National Enquirer has "reached a new low," according to Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa.
An attorney for the comely couple has demanded a retraction from the tabloid for a story that claims their 12-year marriage is on the skids and Consuelos has ditched their family's New York abode for a new setup in Chicago.
"Ms. Ripa and Mr. Consuelos are and remain happily married and living together at their home in New York City," read the cease-and-desist missive penned by NYC-based lawyer Michael P. Zweig. (View the letter.)
Not only did the Enquirer go to press after being told that the story was false, Zweig wrote, but the rag's "front page and inner headlines and accompanying story are ridiculous and represent little more than a cynical and malicious attempt to injure my clients and their family, to boost flagging circulation, and to trade off of the good reputation, image and deserved celebrity of my clients."
